Gas metering

Description

Gas metering stations are located along gas distribution and transportation networks. These stations allow pipeline operators and local distribution companies to monitor, manage, and account for the natural gas flowing through the network.

The main scope of a gas metering station is to measure the flow of gas, allowing distribution companies to manage the network and gas sellers to allocate and bill the consumption.

The flow rate through a station can be measured by means of different devices such as rotary, turbine and ultrasonic meters and orifice fittings. They record the flow rate in actual cubic meters and a volume converter calculates the equivalent compendated for pressure, temperature and density.
